Don't forget the hilarious refernce to T&S's mom that followed later in the article:
"8:30 After seeing a bit of The Kooks (they sounded good btw, it was nice to see some solid Brit rock, something I thin the festival sorely lacked this year, at Sasquatch!) we went over to get a spot on the hill to see Death Cab For Cutie.
Ben Gibbard was especially talkative. The band played through "Where Soul Meets Body," "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" "Crooked Teeth" the extended version of "I Will Possess Your Heart" and other sappy, indie poppy songs.
Gibbard dedicated "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" to The Cure.
"There are two reasons I wore all black today," Gibbbard said, setting up the song. "One is because I wear black on the outside because that's how I feel on the inside. The other reason is because of The Cure."
He also later dedicated "The Sound of Settling" to Tegan and Sarah's mother, who apparently tried to convince the Bremerton singer that "Juno" is a good movie. Gibbard said he couldn't tell the twins' mother he thought she was wrong, so instead he told the crowd of 22,000 after she left the festival."
