"The Con isn’t musically complex or lyrically deep, but it bleeds with such emotion that the listener automatically connects and falls in love with the Quinn sisters. I’ve always been a sucker for “heart on sleeve” albums, and The Con is no exception. Each song is relatable, as they focus on heartbreak, insecurity, and love while being ambiguous about whom they are singing about. With members of Against Me!, The All-American Rejects, and Cancer Bats already some of their biggest fans, The Con is the perfect starting point for new listeners, as Tegan and Sara take the good from previous albums and expand on it, resulting in the best album they’ve ever written and one of the better albums of 2007." "After we'd been waiting inside the stuffy store for three hours, the girls finally hit the stage. I can't begin to explain the excitement I felt when they broke into their first song. The sound was a bit echo-y in that huge space, but it didn't stop me from noticing how masterful they've become on the guitar. Unfortunately, that excitement quickly turned into embarrassment as the crowd felt it necessary to shout obscenities at every break and occasionally interrupt songs with "you've got a nice ass" or "I wanna have your babies!" The worst, most belligerent comment of them all wasn't even directed at the band, but rather at their art director, Emily Storey, known to fans as "Emy." No need to worry, though — Friday night, I was able to meet Emy and I apologized on behalf of the entire city of Los Angeles for its rude behavior. Fortunately, the show went on, and I caught some of it on my handy digital camera. Below is one of my personal favorites, "I've Got You." The song has never been officially recorded and released but they've been playing it live for years and at this point it can be found all over YouTube." (read full article at OurChart.com).
