The Sun (Interview)

"WHY is the UK special to you?

Tegan: It is a great place to tour. We have a loyal and devoted fan base and we are intent on touring anywhere people are interested in seeing us tour. We were in the UK last summer and had an amazing time.

Sara: The UK feels like a metropolis of many different bee hives. There is so much happening. It’s always a challenge for us to stand out somehow; staying underground, relying on the support of word of mouth has been our best bet. But we’re ready to surface." (read full interview at The Sun).

The title of that article is intentionally ironic given the interview, right??

Yeah, I can't tell if the article's title was meant to be humerous or not. It caught me off guard as it seems so blatently ignorant. Oh well, I just hope they were trying to be funny.

i completely agree. at first i was shocked at the title and then when i read the article i thought it might be a joke but i still don't like it because thats the first thing people read which means thats how they wanted to grab peoples attention...etc.
it made me a little upset thats for sure.

i've got the newspaper in front of me and its a full page of the interview headlined tegan and sara the con. the only time it say's about lesbians is when they get asked about it.

i think it's just the case of a lazy editor. probably just signed an sealed it without really looking at it. saw the 'lesbian twins' part and thought it would make for an attention-grabbing headline...which totally makes the article look like a joke, but what can you do? the sun is garbage anyway.
